How to use this tool

01

Choose a single image. The initial selection is a centered square.

02

Adjust the starting X and Y positions and the crop width and height. Values are whole pixels, measured from the top-left corner.

03

Check the preview, choose an output format, and download the cropped image.

What the result means

Cropping removes pixels outside a rectangle; it is different from reducing the file size or stretching the whole picture. X moves the starting point to the right, and Y moves it down. The rectangle must remain inside the source image. For a 1200 x 800 image, X=200, Y=0, width=800, height=800 gives a centered square.

Questions about this tool

Can I crop without changing dimensions?

The crop dimensions are the output dimensions. Cropping retains only the selected portion, so the result is normally smaller than the source.

Why is the crop rejected?

The starting point plus width or height extends beyond the source. Reduce the rectangle or move it back inside the image.
