What the result means
Fit within box treats the entered dimensions as maximums. For example, fitting a 1600 x 1000 image into a 500 x 500 box produces 500 x 313 pixels after rounding. Center crop fills the exact box and removes material at the edges. Stretch fills the exact box without preserving the shape. The upscaling checkbox applies only to fit mode.

Why are my dimensions not exactly what I entered?
In fit mode, proportions are preserved and both dimensions remain within the box. Choose center crop or stretch for an exact-sized output.
Can this resize several images?
Yes. The same settings apply to every selected image, and each result displays its final dimensions.
